WOOD COUNTY SPECIAL OLYMPICS TO HOST 27TH ANNUAL DINNER & REVERSE RAFFLE FUNDRAISER

Charese Botjer • September 12, 2024

Wood County Special Olympics is thrilled to announce its 27th Annual Dinner and Fundraiser in support of our Wood County Wildcats on Friday, November 1, 2024, at Glass City Boardwalk from 6PM to 10PM. We warmly invite you to join us for a night of fun, camaraderie, and support for Wood County Special Olympics. The fundraiser will include a reverse raffle with the chance to win a $10,000 grand prize! Glass City Boardwalk is located at 27820 E. Broadway St. in Walbridge, Ohio.

For those who have attended in the past, thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to welcoming you back this year. For new attendees, we are excited to have you join our community and contribute to this vital cause! We had an amazing event last year and we are so excited to come together, yet again, and celebrate our athletes, program, and supportive community members.

All proceeds from the dinner and reverse raffle fundraiser will support the Wood County Special Olympics Program in purchasing new equipment and uniforms, registration fees, travel and lodging, facility rentals, officials, fuels costs, and more. It even allows the opportunity for growth and expansion of programs and available sports offered!

We thank our 2023 sponsors sincerely for their contributions, generosity, and continued support to provide our adult and youth athletes with the quality program they deserve.

This year, we are seeking additional sponsors to help support the 450 athletes and nine sports of Wood County Special Olympics. Sponsorships available include:

·        Main Event Sponsor - $5,000

·        Gold - $1,500

·        Silver - $1,000

·        Bronze - $500

If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, please contact Jennifer Krouse at 419-419-7907 or email jkrouse@woodcountydd.org.

Jen Krouse, Wood County Special Olympics Local Coordinator says, “By supporting Wood County Special Olympics, you give athletes with developmental and intellectual disabilities the chance to discover their unique strengths and abilities, building their self-confidence in ways that change lives. Your generosity, along with the kindness of our community and supporters beyond, helps them forge lasting friendships, experience the joy of competition, and achieve dreams they once thought impossible. For this, our hearts are forever grateful."

Tickets are on sale NOW. The purchase of a reverse raffle ticket is $100 and includes one dinner. FREE soda and beer are included, chance games will be available along with a silent auction, and a cash bar is also provided. Purchase your ticket by visiting our website at https://www.woodcountydd.org/special-olympics.

For more information about the event, you may call 419-419-7907 or visit our website at https://www.woodcountydd.org/special-olympics. We look forward to seeing our guests on Friday, November 1st!

ABOUT WOOD COUNTY SPECIAL OLYMPICS:

Since its creation in 1970, Wood County Special Olympics has sponsored over 500 youth and adult athletes served by Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities. This program offers year-round training and competitions in nine different sports, including local, state, and regional games.

Participation in sports goes beyond the experiences of training and competition. Involvement in Special Olympics gives people access to physical fitness, growth in self-confidence, and a chance to expand their circle of relationships in the community. Currently, Wood County Special Olympics covers all costs for each athlete and will continue this practice due to the overwhelming generosity and contributions of our sponsors, year after year.
