Our History
Since 1955, children, youth, and adults with developmental disabilities have counted on our ability to provide excellent services and support. While the developmental disabilities system is ever-changing, the Wood County Board of DD adapts and continues to coordinate vital services for people with developmental disabilities in Wood County.
Community members, civic and religious groups, BGSU, as well as businesses have been a critical part of our success. In addition, we have an excellent relationship with school districts and other human service agencies to ensure options and choices in education, employment, recreation, and community involvement. We continue to collaborate with service providers and recruit new providers to the area to increase those options and choices for the individuals we serve.
Within the heart of each community, EVERYONE belongs!
