WOOD COUNTY BOARD OF DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES TO CELEBRATE 40 YEARS OF EARLY INTERVENTION

Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities (WCBDD) will celebrate four decades of supporting young children and their families during its 40th Anniversary of Early Intervention Celebration on Monday, October 19, from 5–7 p.m. at the WCBDD campus.

For 40 years, Early Intervention has partnered with families of infants and toddlers with developmental delays or disabilities, helping families build upon everyday routines and experiences to support their child’s development. The anniversary celebration will recognize the children, families, professionals, and community partners who have been part of Early Intervention throughout its history in Wood County.

“This milestone is about so much more than 40 years of services. It represents generations of children and families who have been supported along their journey,” said Brent Baer, Superintendent of the Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities. “We look forward to bringing our community together to celebrate Early Intervention’s history in Wood County and the impact it continues to have for families today.”

The celebration is open to the entire community, including families currently receiving Early Intervention services, families who participated in the program in previous years, community partners, and anyone interested in joining WCBDD in recognizing this milestone.

Guests can enjoy light refreshments, a photo booth, and a kids activity table throughout the evening. There is no cost to attend, and registration is not required. The 40th Anniversary of Early Intervention Celebration will take place from 5–7 p.m. Monday, October 19, at the Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities, Building B, 1921 E. Gypsy Lane Road, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402.

Early Intervention in Wood County is part of Ohio’s Help Me Grow Early Intervention system and provides family-centered services and supports for eligible children from birth through age 3 and their families.
