NOTICE TO BIDDERS | Renovation of Two Sensory Classrooms at Wood Lane School

Sealed bids will be received for the renovation of two sensory classrooms located at Wood Lane School, 1921 E. Gypsy Lane Road, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402 by the Wood County Board of DD no later than 3:00 pm, EST on Tuesday, June 11, 2024. Proposals must be delivered to the Reception desk of the Community Supports Building located on the Wood County Board of DD Campus, 1921 Gypsy Lane Road, Entrance C, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402. Proposals will be read publicly immediately following in the Community Supports Building Conference Room (Entrance C). Proposals received after the listed date and time shall be considered late and will be returned to the submitting party unopened. 

 

The overall work scope will consist of all material and labor required for the interior renovations of two existing sensory classrooms including, but not limited to, new casework, new room finishes, new plumbing fixtures, new mechanical ventilation, new light fixtures and associated electrical scope, refer to bid documents.


Project Estimates:

Base Bid – Wood Lane Sensory Rooms Renovation:  $255,000.00.

Bidders shall not be responsible for paying taxes on materials incorporated into the structure. A single contract will be issued for all work.

A pre-bid meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 29th, 2024 at 10:00 am, at the Wood County Board of DD Community Supports Building, 1921 Gypsy Lane Road, Entrance C, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402. The pre-bid meeting will be immediately followed by an optional site visit of the areas of work contained within the base bid at the addresses listed above.


Bids shall be received on the Form of Bid Proposal furnished and accompanied by the required supporting documents listed with the Instruction to Bidders. No other form(s) will be accepted.


The bid guarantee may be of two forms:

  1. A Bid Guarantee and Contract Bond using the form in the Contract Documents.
  2. A certified check, cashier’s check or letter of credit in favor of the Wood County Commissioners, in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid. If the contract is awarded a Contract Bond will be required, which is a one hundred percent (100%) payment and performance bond.


Bidders shall submit with their bid the affidavit required under the Ohio Revised Code, Section 5719.042 that the bidder was not charged with any delinquent personal property taxes in Wood County, Ohio.


The Contractor declares that its principal officers, directors, shareholders and/or partners are current with any court-ordered child support payments pursuant to the Board of County Commissioners’ Resolution No. 92-2041.


The successful bidder will be required to pay not less than the minimum wage rates established by the Department of Commerce, Division of industrial Compliance, Bureau of Wage and hour Administration of the State of Ohio in accordance with all provisions of the Prevailing Wage Act of the State of Ohio, ORC Sections 4115.16 and related requirements.


Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities reserves the right to waive irregularities in the bids and to reject any or all proposals or parts of any or all proposals.


No bidder may withdraw their bid within sixty (60) days after bid opening.

Sealed bids will be received by the Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities (“Owner”), at the office of 1921 E. Gypsy Lane Road – Building B , Bowling Green, OH 43402 on the 12 th of May at 10:00am local time for the: Wood Lane School Play Space and will be publicly opened and read immediately thereafter. Each bid must contain the full names of the party or parties making the same, with an affidavit as to interested parties, and in the case of a corporation not chartered in Ohio, with a proper certificate that such corporation is authorized to do business in Ohio, and shall be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty Bond for the full amount (100%) of the Bid, in favor of the “Owner” or a certified check, cashier’s check, or letter of credit pursuant to Chapter 1305 of the Ohio Revised Code, in the amount of 10% of the Bid, payable to the “Owner”. It is agreed that the bid guaranty shall be for the benefit of the “Owner” pursuant to Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code if the undersigned fails to execute the Contract in conformity with the Form of Contract incorporated in the contract documents and furnish Bond and insurance certificates within ten (10) days after the notification of the award of the Contract to the undersigned. Copies of the Contract Documents are on file and may be obtained directly from Becker Impressions , at cost, none of which will be refunded. Please note that in order to be considered as a “responsive bidder” for this project, you must purchase a set of plans and bid documents, and follow all instructions provided.
