RESPITE SERVICES

Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities is committed to providing holistic supports to both individuals and their families. Respite care is an essential part of the overall support that families may need to keep their family member with a disability at home and provides caregivers with a break from the daily challenges of caring for a child or adult with developmental disabilities.

Who is Eligible for Respite Care?

Any individual age 3 or older receiving Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities Services

How Can Respite Care Benefit Me?

-       Respite provides planned short-term relief options for families spanning from one night to one week at a time. 

-       Our services can help stabilize and improve the emotional and mental well-being of both families and individuals.

-       Help to develop and nurture the individual's social, recreational, and life skills.

When is Respite Care Used?

There are several reasons respite care may be utilized including:

-       Short-term relief option

-       Unforeseen homelessness

-       Family emergencies

-       Recovery time from medical procedures

-       And more!
