Wood County Board of DD’s Early Intervention (EI) is a family-centered program for children from birth to 3 years of age who have developmental delays and disabilities. The program is part of Ohio’s Help Me Grow (Website) System. Our services are based on the idea that children learn best through everyday experiences with people they know and are comfortable with. Your child’s best teacher is YOU, and our team of professionals at Wood County Board of DD are here to support your family every step of the way as your child learns and develops.

Department Services

Our Early Intervention (EI) Department provides screenings and evaluations for children to identify concerns in early development. After completing our initial evaluations and assessments, we will work to create supports that are individualized to fit the unique needs of your family.

In addition to customized supports, several of our team members have completed advanced training through the PLAY Project (Website) and are able to offer PLAY Project as a family-implemented autism intervention.  The PLAY Project offers research-based autism strategies and activities that focus on play and relationships to support the social and emotional growth of the child with autism.
