The Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities offers a wide range of services and opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in Wood County. As a county board of DD, we work hard to ensure that all people in our community have access to vital supports as well as recreational and service opportunities. The goal of the services we provide is to help people achieve a happy and healthy lifestyle with opportunities to interact with all community members as desired and to be as independent as possible.
If you or a loved one are served by the Wood County Board of DD, you will be assigned a service coordinator who will help you navigate the spectrum of services offered in Wood County. You can also expect your service coordinator to be available to answer questions you may have and to help you sign up for various clubs and organizations affiliated with our agency. You can learn more about service coordination by visiting our SSA page.
As a person served by our Board of DD, you are also eligible to receive the benefits of Health Supports in the form of occupational therapy consults and nursing consultations. If you are interested in learning more about how Remote Supports can help support your goal of independent living, you can schedule a trial stay at our TwinTech Remote Support Model Home (maintained by our Health Supports department) by contacting email@example.com. Visit our Health Supports page for more information.
Clubs and Activities
We know having meaningful relationships and a strong sense of community is an important component in achieving a high quality of life. That’s why in addition to service coordination, we work hard to ensure that there is a broad range of clubs and activities available to choose from. We offer something for everyone, whether you or your loved one are interested in service, community outings, music, outdoor activities, advocacy, cooking, crafts, or athletics! Head over to our Clubs page to learn more about the recreational and service opportunities available. If you are interested in athletics, be sure to check out our Special Olympics section.
