WCBDD Grant Process and Form – Due October 1, 2021
The Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities maintains a grant fund in the 2021 budget. The approved budget of WCBDD includes $50,000.00 available for funding creative programs and services. The WCBDD has a specific interest in assuring the availability of inclusive programs and services designed to meet the emerging needs of individuals eligible for county board funding or to expand successful programs and services for individuals eligible for county board funding. Specific emphasis is placed on programs and services that will:
- Create safe, inclusive, and positive living, recreational, and working environments
- Enable individuals to develop the skills and resources needed to achieve their fullest potential and greatest level of independence
Funds are awarded only to nonprofit, charitable organizations that have been designated as having tax-exempt status under section 50l(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
The Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities did not release the availability of the grant funds earlier in the budget cycle to ensure the flexibility needed with the unstable COVID – 19 pandemic and potential for emergency utilization. WCBDD has reviewed the status of the 2021 budget and is prepared to release the availability of the grant funds for application. The projected Grant release will utilize the following schedule:
August 20, 2021 – Availability of Grant funds announced.
August 20, 2021 to October 1, 2021 – Applications for Grant Funds accepted
October 4, 2021 to October 15, 2021 – Applications evaluated by committee(s).
October 18, 2021 – Grant Funds awarded at the regular scheduled meeting
The process for review of the applications includes review by the Program, Finance and Ethics Committee of the Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities. The grant funds can be allocated in the full amount of $50,000.00 or divided amongst qualified applications as determined by the above committees.

Bids will be received by the Wood County Board of DD at their offices located at 1921 East Gypsy Lane, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402 until 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 15, 2021 and at that time will be publicly opened and read aloud.
The work will consist of demolition of an existing garage and wood deck, construction of a new composite wood deck, a new concrete patio and sidewalks, and new asphalt parking area.
The estimate of probable cost for this project is $179,900.00. Bidders shall not be responsible for paying sales taxes on materials incorporated into the structure.
The contract documents, including plans and specifications, are on file at the office of the Wood County Board of DD and the Architect. All bids must be signed and submitted on copies or originals of the blanks which are bound in the contract documents. The bid guaranty may be of two forms:
- A Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond using the form in the Contract Documents. (The amount of the bid does NOT have to appear on this form.)
