Early Intervention

EARLY INTERVENTION

Wood County Board of DD’s Early Intervention (EI) is a family-centered program for infants and toddlers with developmental delays or disabilities. The program is part of Ohio’s Help Me Grow System, serving children from birth until their 3rd birthday. Our services are based on the idea that children learn best through everyday experiences with familiar people in familiar settings. Your child’s best teacher is YOU, and our team of professionals at Wood County Board of DD are here to support your family every step of the way as your child learns and develops.

Early Intervention Services

EI builds upon and provides supports and resources to assist parents and caregivers to enhance children’s learning and development through everyday routines. Your EI team includes a service coordinator, service providers, and you. Our team completes screenings, evaluations, and assessments for children to identify strengths and needs in early development.

EI is a collaborative, home and community-based system where you and your team develop a plan to provide ongoing supports that are individualized to fit the unique needs of your family.
